How to Strategically Sell + Market in your Business

This whole month I’ve been going through the core elements that I teach my clients and last but certainly not least is the strategy of selling and marketing your business.

This is one of the foundational elements I like to cover with my clients because sales are the oxygen of your business. Without sales, it’s impossible to keep your business alive.

Let’s dive into each one of these and how they tie together to help you not just keep your business alive but thrive!

MARKETING

Before becoming an entrepreneur I was a doing marketing for the corporate world. I learned how to generate leads, target the right audience, create content and attract clients. My knowledge of marketing expanded when I started doing it for my own business and then eventually for clients through my agency. Now, I teach my clients the proven strategies that help them attract quality leads.

Marketing is the way you attract and engage your dream clients.

If you want to attract and engage quality leads consistently then its important for you to focus on your marketing. Here are the key components you want to have in place when it comes to your marketing:

  1. Strategy

    When you have a marketing strategy in place it will not only save you time but it will make you more money by ensuring that you are consistent and focused. Marketing isn’t necessarily about doing more, it’s about being focused and strategic.

  2. Content

    You’ve heard it before, content is king and it’s true. The beauty about marketing right now is that there are so many methods for you to create content. There is blogging, video, podcasting, etc. Find something that works for you and do it consistently.

  3. Consistency

    Notice how often I’ve used the word consistency with marketing? It’s because that’s the key to getting results. You have to decide on what you are doing to do and keep doing it over and over and over again.

    SALES

    Now let’s talk about sales. I avoided sales for a long time to be honest with you. I stuck to the marketing department for so long I got used to handing over the lead to my sales team and letting them handle the rest. However, I quickly learned that if I was going to have my own business, I was going to have to embrace sales. Since doing that, I’ve learned a thing or two about sales that now help my clients convert within days of working with me. Here’s what I know works when it comes to sales:

    1. Mindset

      You have to have the right mindset when it comes to selling. If you are freaked out by selling, you’re not going to be able to do it successfully. One way I help my clients work through the mindset piece is that I encourage them to view sales as an invitation to work with you. You are empowering the individual to make the decision, not forcing them.

    2. Conversion Method

      The second key is having a conversion method in place that works for you. That means knowing what works for you. Is it getting on the phone? A webinar? A pitch via live video? Identify what works best for you and use it.

    3. Consistency

      Again, consistency is key. Without selling consistency you can’t expect to sell consistently. You have to be willing to pitch regularly if you want to sell regularly.
