You did it! You set out to start your business, set-up a website, picked out a name, maybe grabbed a few office supplies and a new notebook and happily began the long awaited day to entrepreneurship!
Except, now you find yourself struggling to get clients. You did all the things, but all you're hearing are crickets. And you can't help but wonder what you did wrong or what needs to change in order for you to start making some money.
Friend, if that sounds like you I want to help you! I've got some tips to help you turn things around for your business:
Tip #1: Have something to sell
This might sound like a no-brainer, but I can't tell you how many businesses I talk to who don't have anything to sell. Here's a reality check, if you don't have anything to sell, then you aren't a business. If you have nothing to sell, there is nothing for people to buy and therefore no way for you to make money. If you want to make money, make sure you have a way to do it.
Tip #2: Promote consistently
Most entrepreneurs, especially at the beginning, have a hard time promoting themselves. They post once, twice maybe three times and then call it quits and say no one answered. The reality is that people need to see things at least 6 times before they buy! So by not promoting yourself enough you aren't giving people the opportunity to process, consider and convert. So be okay with promoting yourself, selling and putting your offer there time and time again. You are a business after all!
Tip #3: Give value before you sell
If no one has ever heard of you, knows what you do, or that you know what you are talking about they aren't going to buy from you. Before you decide to sell anything give value. Find ways to give value to your audience to show them your expertise and knowledge and to get them to trust you. Trust creates clients which creates wealth. And if you are already giving value, and have been giving value and are stuck there, then go to tip 1 and 2.
